With 10 million hectares of forest disappearing every year, the Samsic Group has launched "Caring for Forests", a forest regeneration programme that aims to plant 100,000 trees by 2027, focusing mainly on its areas of operation in Europe and North Africa.

A PROJECT TO PLANT 8,772 TREES IN BELORADO

Samsic is collaborating with Reforest'Action to implement and monitor its projects, using specific metrics to determine the number of species to be planted, the area of land targeted for regeneration, and the number of people positively impacted by these initiatives.

The first reforestation operation took place in December 2022 and involved the planting of 7,950 trees on five hectares at the Château de Bienassis estate in Côtes d'Armor, Brittany, France.

The second operation took place on Thursday 14 March 2024, in Belorado, near Burgos, Spain. Around 50 clients and employees took part in the project's launch, planting 8,772 trees in an area devastated by fires.

The day began with introductory speeches from the Samsic Group's Executive Management, followed by a general presentation of the project. Each participant then had the opportunity to plant a tree in a beautiful setting while enjoying the fine weather.

We would like to thank the teams at Samsic Spain for organising this event. The success of this event inspires us to continue developing future forest regeneration projects, specifically in Portugal, Italy, and Poland.
