Arkéa-Samsic cyclist team

The Arkéa-Samsic team of 21 Breton cyclists was officially presented on Tuesday 8 January at the Château des Pères in Piré-sur-Seiche (Ille-et-Vilaine). More than 600 guests attended the event which showcased the new team kits and goals for 2019.

A new name, a new kit

As of 01 January 2019, the cyclists will tackle the new season under a new name which reflects both sponsors' brands. White, black and red were the three chosen colours.

A re-energised team with the arrival of André Greipel

The overall 2018 results are very mixed and far from expectations as the team took only two victories in the Tour de Savoie-Mont-Blanc and the Polynormande races. The cycling team intends to get off to a much better start in 2019 and is counting on Warren Barguil and André Greipel, its two promising cyclists. Warren Barguil was greatly disappointed by last season’s performance and is ready to show what he is worth in the next races. German sprinter, André Greipel, has clocked up no less than 155 victories and his competitive spirit should re-motivate the team.

"In January 2018 we joined the world of cycling and, in doing so, gave our Group more visibility. Over the course of a year, the Fortuneo-Samsic team achieved promising results which confirm our choice of partnership. The arrival of André Greipel has consolidated the team and we have the utmost belief that all the cyclists will take us on an incredible journey once again this year.

Our team will now operate under a new name and colours but will remain true to its values and ambitions. Through the 90%-Breton Arkéa-Samsic team, Brittany will continue to shine on the international stage.

We are very proud to team up with Arkéa and to join our name to a daring Group with whom we share high hopes for 2019."
